Our first project was the improvement of a softball field at Mondauk Park in Upper Dublin Township where David played softball for many years. We helped create a beautiful setting to be enjoyed by children, families and many others featuring a 2 ton boulder noting the phrase "Celebrating the Life of David B. Weiss, Field Improvements Contributed by the David B. Weiss Memorial Foundation 2011”.

This project was unveiled on Saturday, September 10, 2011, with a few hundred supporters celebrating this wonderful tribute to David. It was followed by a picnic that was enjoyed by all in attendance. We would like to thank everyone that made this possible, and look forward to your continued support for our upcoming projects.

Our Projects this year:

We will be establishing a scholarship to a deserving senior.

We will be working with Safe Harbor at Abington Memorial Hospital's Safe Harbor program which provides ongoing grief support groups for children, teens and their parents or caregivers. This is a caring environment where they can come for support and understanding. A program established by Safe Harbor is Camp Charlie. This is a week-long day camp for bereaved children ages six through 12, held in June at Abington Health Center- Schilling Campus in Willow Grove. Staff, volunteer facilitators and teen buddies lead campers through a week of healing and fun. Activities and challenges are used to guide and enhance the healing process for both campers and buddies. Art is used to memorialize, drama/movement to tell the story, and music and song writing to say good bye.
